Our Facility

Midcoast Recreation Center boasts its state of the art Ice Arena. The NHL regulation sized rink is complemented by five spacious locker rooms and two referee changing rooms. The ice rink can seat 400 in the bleachers and there is room for another 300 standing. With the throw of a switch, 48 energy efficient fluorescent lights can go from a dimmed setting for practice events, to full power for games and special events. Though only seasonal, the concrete slab beneath the ice can be used for special events and shows in the off season. The ice rink is in operation from the end of September through the end of March.

Public Skating

Public Skating times are designed for the recreational skater and families to come and skate for a small fee. Sessions will be free of hockey sticks and twirling figure skating. Skate rentals are also available.

Tuesdays & Thursdays: 3:00-5:00pm (Oct 6 – Nov 12 & March 2 – 26)
Fridays: 12:00-2:00pm (Oct 9 – Mar 26)
Saturdays & Sundays: 12:00-2:00pm (Oct 10 – Feb 7)

Holidays: 12:00-2:00pm (closed Thanksgiving and Christmas)
School Vacation Weeks: Daily 12:00-2:00pm
School Snow Days: 12:00-2:00pm

Birthday Parties

Want to leave the stress of party planning to someone else? Celebrate that special birthday with an ice skating party at the Mid-Coast Recreation Center. Guests will enjoy an unforgettable party in a heated private room and 2 hours of ice skating fun. You have all the fun while we do the work. We will deliver your food and clean up the mess! The party room is for your exclusive use and is available early for decorating. All parties take place during public skate times. Reservations are required. Rates: $50 for room rental only – skate passes are $4 for 12 and under, $5 over 12. Skate rentals are $4. Party with food: $12 per child includes: choice of a slice of pizza or a hot dog, 22 oz fountain beverage, bag of chips, ice cream cup, skate pass, skate rental and 2 adults complimentary.
